On Sharing Recipes

I love sharing recipes.  And I’ve always thought it was tacky not to share a recipe.  When restaurants put out books of their recipes, one can have no good reason not to share.  A good homemaker will always be considered a good homemaker, whether or not other people cook the same dishes.  Besides, it’s the ultimate compliment to be asked for your recipe!

And just think — all ye people who don’t share — where did YOUR recipes come from? Betcha you didn’t invent every single one of them.  Someone had to be kind enough to share.

And one more note — and maybe the best part of the whole sharing thing — sharing recipes allows you to benefit from the creativity of others.  They just might come up with a little change that will transform your recipe from something good to something great.  And if I share a recipe with someone and they come up with an improvement, I surely would like to be the first to know about it!

About Charity

I have an inexcusable number of cookbooks (and like to experiment with them), have worked in architectural antiques, and have been sewing most of my life. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Textiles & Apparel and Fashion Merchandising from Lipscomb University, and I am currently pursuing my M.S. in Historic/Cultural Dress and Textiles at the University of Georgia. Doing household things (except for cleaning!) and hunting for antiques are my favorite pastimes.
